Decorating for Christmas

As soon as we got home from The Thornocks I put up the tree and started decorating.  Of course I let the kids help, and then changed it when they went to bed. :) They always have so much fun puting up christmas.

The one good thing about a fake tree is that you can keep it up as long as you want and it wont burst into flames.  So we got it up quick.  I love having the tree in the house, it really makes christmas real.

I also took a couple shots of my other stuff.  I think most of it turned out cute.

The tree was blue, and then I went to Tai Pan with the kids and Schaefer wanted red so we got some red stuff and changed it.  I really like the change.

My kitchen shelf, I really could use some vinyl or frames of something, oh well maybe next year.
Temple Square

On our way home from the Thornocks we met up with The Robertson cousins to go see the lights at temple square.

Unfortunatly it was so foggy we coudnt get many good pictures, but his one tuned out kind of cool I thought.

The kids had so much fun running around looking at the lights and the Temple

Logan of course was the smart one.  He actually stayed in there quite a bit.
The other kids ran around like crazy

We even had Boss, by default.  I totally forgot that we would have him in Idaho so he got to come, and he did really well, he stayed in there the whole time.

This was the best picture we could get and boss some how got into it.
Visting the Thornocks

We Headed up to Rexburg to see The Thornock cousins.  The kids watched movies on the way up and Boss, who got to come on this trip, loved to sit just like this behind Melynn.  Its funny, that is the spot he goes for everytime he is in the car.

When we got there, the kids got to stay up late and play.  Once we got them in bed, Luara and I started on the Decorations for Kenedis birthday party the next day.  It all turned out really cute.  Laura planned so well and she had so many cute ideas.

Princess Kenedi.

Here is the table of birthday treats.  We had cream puffs, cake balls, cupcakes, marshmellow pops and lemonade.  it was so cute.

All the little girls, and Schaef, got to dress up as princesses, or prince.

Then we made crowns.  It was a mess but they all had so much fun doing it.

Princess Kadrynn

Prince Schaefer.  I wrapped a shirt around him like a cape, JD gave him a hat and belt.  He looked pretty studly.  and he wore it all day!

Little princess Melynn helping Kenedi, she almost had that one open by the time Kenedi got to it.

Schaefer was very proud of his crown.  Especially the feather.

Macy didnt get to do much but look how cute she is, this is her new favorite face to make.

Laura always has cute decor so I wanted to take a picture, her house looks really cute, she has done a great job with her little space.

All the kids just before we left.
Gingerbread Houses

Laura decided it would be fun to make Graham Cracker Gingerbread Houses.
So her and I went to the store to get all the stuff for it.

The kids had so much fun making them, and as you can see, so did the adults.

We had so much candy!! And some how we used almost all of it.  Well they ate a good amout of it too.

The boys with the finished product.

Kadrynns kept falling down and it was so frusterating.  The frosting wasnt hardening fast enough. So we were really caking it on, it ended up working fine.

Here are the kids with their houses.  Its been over a month and Schaefer still has his in his room for his decoation.

I am helping Kadrynn build her candy cane tree and trying to get it to stop falling down.

All the finished houses, we had one temple with a temple sized snowman, 2 Mosques (if thats how you spell it) and 6 regular houses.
Moms Black Friday Birthday

After we got back from the movie and put the kids in bed on Thanksgiving we started looking through the adds.  Brian Heather Laura and I decided to head to walmart for their midnight doorbusters and we all wanted the electronics that were going on sale at 5 am.  So we got there and found out we would need to stay all night to stay in line for the stuff we wanted.  So laura and I went around getting things and then she headed home while Brian Heather and I hunkered down for the night in line.  It was horrible.  Mostly because I wasnt planning on staying all night so I didnt bring anything!!!  So I sat there.  After a while I asked the people behind me if they would save my spot while I went to get a book.  So at least I had that.  Then about 3am Ian came to get coupons from me so he could go to kohls.  So he was there for a few hours untill we met him just after 5 am.  He and Brian went home and Heather and I headed out to meet up with Laura and Mom who were at Shopko.  We hit a few more stores then had breakfast and got home around 9am.  I amost couldnt drive I was so tired.  But we made it and then slept for a few hours.  After I got ready I took Mom out to a couple more stores so that everyone else could decorate and get ready for her party.  We came back to this great sign the kids made and Heather.
She got to open her gifts.

And blow out the candles on her pumpkin pie.  We figured there is so much junk in the house that a cake would go to waste, so we stuck the candles in the pie.

Shortly after us girls headed down to salt lake for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.

The Radio Ciy Rockettes came to Salt lake and Mom loves them so we all went to the show.  As tired as were were, we made it there and back alive.

The show was really cool, they had a santa coming in and out through the whole thing, and the dancers did different scenes during the show.  I got a couple picts before I got in trouble for taking pictures.
Oops!

Suprisingly you cant see the tired on their faces.

Petersen Thanksgiving 2010

This was the first year that we were able to have Thanksgiving at Mom and Dads house.  We had everyone but Tara and Eric there.  It was a lot of fun.  We all got to spend a few days there.  And of course there was lots of snow and cold weather so it felt extra christmasy.

I wasnt very good about taking pictures on Thanksgiving, because I was helping in the kitchen.

Dinner was great!!  We had turkey, And potatoes and veggies, and shrimp dip, cheese ball, and a few, sweet potatoes and ham, gravy, rolls and stuffing, and more, but I cant remember all of it.

Everything turned out so good.  the only bad part was we didnt have much leftover, so no turkey sandwiches and stuff the next day.

The kids had so much fun spending time together.  They dont usually get this many days to play and they went all day and couldnt be stopped.

Melynn loves Macy, she kept going up to her and saying "Macy!" and so Macy would try to grab her face or something.

Shad chowing down on marshmellos

After dinner we headed over to the theaters to see Tangled.  It was so cute and the kids all loved it.  When we got home we broke out the pie.

I made a razzleberry and apple, mom did a cheesecake, and pumpkin.  So we had a good variety and they all turned out so good.

Antiques

So my Dad brought this table and some matching chairs back from his sisters house, I guess its been in the family for a while and he really wanted to keep it.  So I took the table to use as a side table in my living room.  I have had it forever and one day I came home and found it sanded and ready for painting.  Then the next day I found Ian outside staining it.  He is such a good husband and I am so grateful for him and all the things he does for me.
It ended up looking really great and matching my room well.  Laura ended up taking one of the chairs and finishing it for her house.  I am thinking I am going to get the other chair to put somewhere.  Its so much fun seeing some history in your house.
